Energy Savings Performance Contract – Warren, Michigan

EnviroMix announced today that its technology will be utilized as part of an energy savings performance contract (ESPC) with the city of Warren, Michigan, at the Warren Wastewater Treatment Plant. This 36 million gallon per day wastewater treatment facility will be upgraded to provide a biological phosphorus removal (BPR) process in lieu of the existing chemical phosphorus removal.

EnviroMix will provide its technology to mix anoxic and anaerobic biological treatment cells created within the current footprint of the four operating process trains. The BioMix system is expected to be operational during the second quarter of 2014.

Boyd Gregg, director of engineering and technology, states, “Mechanical mixers were originally considered at a total connected load of 36 horsepower; however, capital and installation costs exceeded the budget required to provide a valid ESPC business case. The solution offered by EnviroMix reduced capital and installation costs and will also reduce the load to 15 horsepower. We are pleased that EnviroMix is part of the sustainable offering to the city of Warren.”
