EnviroMix announced today that its technology will be utilized as part of the water system upgrade designed by Great West Engineering, Inc., at the Town of Opheim, Montana. The Town of Opheim is a community of less than 100 people in far northeastern Montana, just a few miles from the Canadian border.
EnviroMix will provide its AquaBlend™ Compressed Gas Mixing System to mix the Town’s 50,000 gallon elevated water storage tank. The AquaBlend system, utilizing a medical grade air compressor to ensure 100% clean pure air, along with a valve control panel, will be installed in the upgraded outbuilding. The AquaBlend system will replace a poorly performing mechanical mixing system which could not prevent freezing of the water storage tank during winter conditions.
The bubble forming nozzle installed at the base of the riser will intermittently release bursts of air to actively mix the tank contents and preserve water quality. The continuous liquid movement created by the AquaBlend System will most importantly provide freeze protection during winter conditions to maintain continuous availability of drinking water and fire protection for the citizens of Opheim. In addition to the performance attributes of the AquaBlend system, unlike other mechanical mixing systems, AquaBlend in tank components will not require maintenance and are conveniently located in the base of the water tank versus in the difficult to access elevated tank.
“Prior to this improvement, Opheim had to take their water tower off line in the winter to prevent it from freezing, at the expense of providing adequate water storage. The AquaBlend system will ensure availability of water now year-around, ensuring adequate water storage for high demand and fire flows,” said Great West Engineering, Inc.’s Greg Lukasik, P.E.
