Anaerobic Digesters

The anaerobic digestion process enables microorganisms to break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. As a result of the physical and biological reactions that take place; volatile solids are destroyed and biogas is produced by the microbes. The biogas, a renewable energy resource, can be used directly as fuel in engines to generate electricity or heat for the wastewater treatment facility or injected into the natural gas grid.

In order to maximize volatile sludge destruction and biogas production, it is imperative to provide homogeneous mixing throughout the anaerobic digester. A BioMix-AD Anaerobic Digester Mixing System provides bottom-up, uniform mixing at a fraction of the energy required by unconfined gas mixing, mechanical mixing, or pump mix systems, while also minimizing in-tank maintenance.

Advantages
