Charleston, SC, October 15, 2010 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has just released a technical document identifying specific technologies focused on providing energy efficient solutions for wastewater treatment facilities. The publication, Evaluation of Energy Conservation Measures for Wastewater Treatment Facilities, was developed by the EPA to encourage the adoption of energy efficient strategies to reduce power demand among the publicly owned treatment works. EnviroMix was selected for its efficient mixing technology, focused on driving down power cost by 60% or more, compared with legacy technologies. The report’s focus is mainly on energy efficient measures that lead to cost savings with a reasonable payback period. EnviroMix customers can expect a return on investment of three to five years.
“We are extremely proud to be part of this publication which demonstrates our continued value in helping water & wastewater facilities reduce energy demand”, said Ted Jenkins CEO of EnviroMix. “Our focus is to add immediate & measurable value by significantly reducing operating cost while enhancing the treatment process. This EPA publication is a clear indication that our patented technology is among a select group solving a universal need for energy efficient solutions.”
The EnviroMix technology summary can be found in chapter six, “Innovative and Emerging Energy Conservation Measures for Selected Treatment Processes,” (pg 94). The EPA review highlights the company’s efficient mixing technology for both anoxic & anaerobic zones, in order to drive down energy demand while meeting nutrient removal limits.
